Ashwood is situated in a residential area in Woodfield Crescent about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. There is a good sized garden with lawns and a small walled patio area, the garden is used a great deal in the summer months.
The local further Education College has just moved into the town centre 10 minutes walk away and the train station is a 25 minutes walk. There is also the Severn Valley Steam Railway based at the station.
The town centre offers shops, café’s, banks, library, hairdressers, market (Thursday), and health services etc, which are all within walking distance of the home. There is a bus stop not far from the home if service users wish to use it or taxi’s can be organized.
The house provides ground floor accommodation that includes a communal lounge, a dining room, kitchen, double bedroom, bathroom with hoist, & a utility. Upstairs comprises a separate bathroom and toilet, four bedrooms, two of which are single rooms.
The home is fully furnished. Personal items can be displayed in communal areas should service users be in agreement to this.
Aids and equipment will be provided as required.
External maintenance of the accommodation is organised by the proprietor who owns the property. Internal Maintenance such as decorating etc will be done again by the proprietor; a handyman comes into the home on a regular basis.
Cleaning and housekeeping is done by the support staff with service user participation if appropriate.
Heating costs etc are included in the monthly fee‘s.
All staff will undertake emergency fire and evacuation training and will instruct service users of the fire procedure as appropriate.
